Keeping white coat in the eastern hurricane weather can be a challenge for Mom but fortunately Mom is an Olympic Medalist and has boundless energy to keep up.

Valri’ started her show career in the ring with the famous Kaz Hosaka, who Handled “Vikki”, the all-time winning Toy Poodle in the history of the breed. Valri’ is currently growing more coat so that she can compete with the open females in the ever-competitive arena of the white Poodle Kingdom on the East Coast.

Coming soon Mimi and Valri’ will be shown in a Brace.

The American Kennel Club defines a Brace as follows in the. “Rules Applying to Dog Shows”

Section 18.

“Effective January 1, 2005. A brace is defined as two
dogs of the same recognized breed or variety that are similar
in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by
a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace
competition must have at least one common owner.”

• Visit (if someone wants to pet him, he will greet them)

• Up (this is for getting onto raised areas or cars)
• Whisper (he makes a little whimper)
• Speak (1 Bark)
• “Bon Jour” (2 Barks)
• “Ce La Vie” (3 Barks)
• “Merci Beacoup” (4 barks)
• Paws Up (He’ll stand on a object – bench, counter, cardoor, your arm)
• Through (go between your legs)

He also knows words like “doggie”, “kitty”, “squirrel”, “bird/birdie”, “mommy”
And he rings sleigh bells (we hung by the door) to let us know he needs to potty.

Dear Jacki,
Here are the pictures I promised (we will be taking more). Leila is now a full-fledged registered “therapy” dog (visiting dog)!! She is visiting many nursing homes and our local hospital. Talk about truth in advertising, Jacki, when you said that Leila would make a wonderful therapy dog–she is unbelievable! The residents are so blessed by her presence in their lives, and we so enjoy hearing their stories about their love for animals. Leila brings such joy to so many; we are very proud of her and admire and love her more than we can say.  We hope all is well in your world.

You are welcome to use the picture of my boys, they would not mind at all.

Cooper needs to get brushed now and go to the library and lay around and listen to children read. I do not know if I told you he is not only certified as a therapy dog but he has his R.E.A.D (reading assistance education dog) certification also. He is quite the boy. To be honest, it does not take much talent to be a therapy or READ dog, just a calm presence, a real love of strange people petting your head, and of course, a handler willing to take the time and patience be a part of the team. So Cooper is not really any better than other standard poodles, but we as a team are able to show the public how special and absolutely fantastic this breed really can be. You know that is my favorite part of it all. I do so love to share my love for this breed, and the best part is showing people that this is not just a froo froo dog.

I would own a house full of these dogs if my husband would agree but his logic and common sense says that two of them is enough, for now.

Just thought you would like to see our Cooper (black) and Duncan (white) dressed up and ready to go. My husband made the fire hydrant for them (out of irrigation pipe), if they would only lift their legs to use it…..

Cooper’s weight is staying stable at 47-48 pounds. Guess he is probably destined to be a lean (skinny) boy. Duncan is a healthy 51-52 pounds and he looks great.

Both boys are now healthy, happy, and full of energy.

Thank you for all your help a while back in getting Coo’s health back to normal.

Here is an email that came in this morning from a poodle Mom who called me to purchase a puppy and explained that her Poodles were both sick and dying with digestive problems. I recommending some products for her and below are results for of having her Poodles on those products. I’m posting her email as well as my response:

Hi Jacki, I am using your Prairie Powder and it gets hard and then clumpy, am I doing something wrong? When I first started him last year when Pancho came home and I had all the vitamins and I switch him to Force by Honest Kitchen the poodles are still on Embark and are doing great. Any way I ran out of the vitamin a few months ago and he started chewing on his legs, I thought it was because I had switched him to Thrive by mistake but then went back to Force. I switched back, but it didn’t work, still chewing now. I am wondering if it is because of the vitamins. I have just placed an order, so I guess this will be a true test. Another question, my son has an older Russell that keeps getting urinary tact infections, where she wets all over the place. I told him about the Prairie Powder. Would that work or is it a combination of all vitamins? Thanks for your help, Pancheo is such a sweet boy, has decided that the bed is where he is suppose to sleep, he had turned out to be a great house dog, but still loves to run and play with the other dogs. Good to hear from you and Pancheo.

Take a tea bag and empty the tea out of it. Fill the paper container with white rice, staple it shut and place it in the the Prairie Powder container. This should absorb any extra moisture that might be causing the Prairie Powder to clump.

The Prairie Powder is a key to stopping itching along with the Tavern Tonic which helps keep the system “clean” so that no toxins build up and cause allergic reactions.

I recommend the Critter Corral and Prairie Powder for your son’s older Jack Russel. The Critter Corral along with Prairie Powder will help to eliminate bacteria throughout the body and The Prairie powder is very effective with Bladder issues.

My niece put her Boxer dogs on Prairie Powder and says that her “Bailey’s” incontinence has been reduced significantly, their shedding been reduced and they have more energy generally. Wow from one supplement!

Bailey and Copper do not shed as much when they are taking the supplement daily (1 scoop in the am per dog). I’d say the amount of shedding has been cut in half and for boxers that is remarkable, especially for a short haired breed. Bailey doesn’t have as many incontinence issues, I am assuming that is because of the cranberry in the supplement. Before starting the Prairie Powder we were having weekly “leakages”, now it is only once a month and it usually occurs when she is in a deep sleep. Their coats are shiny and soft and they are more energetic; even for a 7 and 8 year-old. Take care…. Shana

Hi Jacki,

Hope things are going well for you guys.

I just wanted to touch base and let you know that Marlowe’s doing really well. He’s so gregarious–he makes friends wherever he goes. Even at the dog park, after a run around the joint he starts introducing himself to people sitting on the benches. He loves being doted on–especially by women as they fawn over his soft coat.

I’m still grooming him myself and doing an okay job. Actually, I had a professional groomer compliment my work, so I can’t be that bad, huh?

Anyway, he’s an absolute joy and we’ll make another trip out to Riverside to visit one of these days…. Michael
